Health care systems: Public vs. Private The main task of this paper is to provide information about public and private health care systems. Having the whole spectrum of both systems will help to make main distinctions between the two of them. As contrast I will use some facts about Danish health care system. The US healthcare system is one of the most technologically developed in the world and expensive too. Our doctors are the most qualified specialists in medical spheres and the rate of medical insurance is really advanced.
In spite these achievements the health care in US is facing crisis and it will only worth if nothing going to change. The main disadvantages of current system are the following: the lack of trained caregivers, lack of affordability of prescription medication, drug re-importation and lack of health insurance. And of course prices. Only people of moderate and high means can afford a well-qualified health insurance. For those who are bellow this degree health care is limited with the free public clinics. And that is where the stumbling block lays.
Is it possible that changing the current healthcare system into a free system will solve the health care problem? And if it is, then who would pay for the health care since it would be free? What is public health care? Public health care is designed to make sure that all people in the country have reasonable access to insured health services on a prepaid basis, without direct charges at the point of service. Simply put, if you break your leg chasing the Canadian dream, you have the right to get fixed up without opening your wallet except to pull out your provincial health insurance card. The act is also designed to make sure that the delivery of health care is pretty consistent across the country. Ottawa has found that the best way to do that is by attaching conditions to the cash it transfers to the provinces to cover health care. If you want separate ward in hospital you pay for it, if you want huge TV set in this ward and fresh flowers on your night table you can easily get all of this just remember that all charges are from your pocket. Private and public health care can be integrated and modified and very successfully by the way. So what is the difference between these two health care systems? The main difference is that one of them you can get for free and other not. But it is not the point and the point is what kind of health care system is better. Dr.
